As we celebrate this day and move forward with the Vision, God has given. When we reflect back on where God has brought us; let us remember our accomplishments.
“Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keeps the law, happy is he.” -Proverbs 29:18
With the vision God has given, you will see many ministries, which will enhance the growth of UMBC as a church family, our home and community. As we take this spiritual walk with the Lord, we must be willing to have an open mind for “change” and be willing to work together.
Let us embrace each other as we demonstrate God’s grace. We must serve with humility, be faithful, consistent in our prayer life, read and meditate on His Word daily.
Challenges will arise; but just remember that God is our source, power and strength. It is through God that we can have Victory. Go beyond what you know you can do straight past the limitations that you've imagined. Challenge yourself, and then do
what it takes to meet that challenge.
The bible states in
Philippians 4:19 “We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.”
UMBC be faithful and always give God the glory!
As your Pastor, I encourage each of you to look beyond what you can only see with your physical eyes and allow God to take you place you would have never imaged. Let us grow together in the Lord, doing what He requires us to be and do.
Dr. Seth Williams
The Bible tells us in (Psalm 119:37 NIV)
“Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to your word”
My encouragement for you today is as Christians we have to be very selective about what we give our time and attention to in order to live the life of victory that God has promised. We have to recognize which thoughts to ignore, which comments to ignore, and sometimes, which people to ignore.
Every “battle” that comes across our path is not a battle that we’re supposed to fight. Many battles are simply distractions to try to lure us off course. If that battle is not between you and your God-given destiny, it’s a battle you need to ignore. If that has been your focus, you are wasting too much valuable time and energy.
Turn away from that distraction! You don’t need the approval of everyone around you; you only need God’s approval! I believe this church would not have been here all these years without someone praying. Maybe that someone was you if so keep praying. We live in a world full of distractions. We must always pray.
As we move forward continue to ask God for guidance. Start today giving more love toward one another, learn how to forgive. Help those less fortunate than we are. Ask yourself if God were too, come today, have I done all that He has required me to do or do I let distraction hold me back.
Ephesians 2:10 says “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
Church lets together make a decision to move forward and do it God’s way.
First Lady,
Jannette Williams
